The migration from shared to VPS or dedicated environment is usually pretty straightforward:
We will install the new server with an image similar to the environment currently running your webhosting account. After the server is in production, we will work with you to copy your existing content over to the new server, and give you a period of time to update any required changes (usually this just involves updating database connection strings in your web.config/global.asax, or other include files. After everything is updated and tested (using the temporary IP/URL that we will provide you with when you receive your account information), we will update the DNS or IP address on the new server to take your websites live in the new environment. Typically, there will be no downtime during the transition to the new server.
